We seek to safeguard and improve fishing access to summer flounder,
for those who enjoy it and to ensure the survival of those who depend on it, through scientific and legislative means.

"So, is this why PEW and the Marine Fish Conservation Network are fighting against our fluke fishery? To stop this from
happening? Five-year-old Jonathan Pingitore appeared in front of the counter of Grumpy's Bait and Tackle in Seaside Park late
in the summer of 2007, hugging his very first surf-caught fish. Grumpy himself told us "His fluke was 19 inches, 2.1
pounds and I think he took it to bed with him that night because he wouldn't let anyone touch his fish! He let me hang it
on the scale but never got 2 feet away from it."
